"Feet on High Places," 2ft by 3ft.
This piece features a close-up view of a foot, focusing on the heel, reflecting my battle with pressure sores and the 1998 amputation of part of my heel bone due to an infected pressure sore. This painful journey, marked by four years of failed procedures, turned into an answer to prayer because it led me to a place of rejoicing in God for my suffering. This fiber art piece employs katazome, screen printing, and hand painting of dye and dye remover on raw silk. This process, for me, acutely illustrates how suffering can transform into a blessing.
