Translucent Truths, 2," digital art, 12in by 17in.
This is the second of two images exploring my experience with Spina Bifida as I've grown older.  I layered personal architectural photographs from Shanghai from a famous former slaughterhouse with anatomical spine images (open-sourced), manipulating these layers to create this distortion. The serpentine movement of the spines up a staircase shows my journey of navigating life with this congenital disability. There is beauty, yet real struggles with this condition.
