This is one of two images that explore some of the aspects of my lived experience with spina bifida. In Adobe Photoshop, I layered personal architectural photographs from Shanghai with anatomical spine images, manipulating these layers to create a visually striking representation of distortion. The serpentine movement of the spines up a staircase symbolizes the twisted journey of navigating life with this congenital disability. There is beauty, yet struggles with this condition.
