"Vertical Limits," digital art, 7in by 17in.
In this piece, I explore the crossroads of aging with a disability while living with Spina Bifida through a digital art piece, utilizing a photo of the bamboo ladders I took. I juxtaposed spinal column images (open-sourced) along the top, showing the coccyx, which is part of the area where spina bifida impacted my spinal column. This piece communicates my inability to use ladders safely as I've gotten older by layering and repeating these images. It creates an unsettling rhythm that echoes these limitations. The X-ray effect I created reinforces the internal aspects of the physical limitations I face in this journey with Spina Bifida.
